It is the same system either way
Whatever heats and cools your house is also what moves the air around it. Every room’s air passes through the same filter, the same coil and the same duct, several times an hour. That is why air quality work is HVAC work rather than a separate trade, and why it is worth looking at the system you already own before buying anything new.
It is also why the honest starting point is a look at the equipment and the duct, not a product recommendation over the phone.
What we do
- Whole-home air purification. Purification equipment installed on the system itself, treating air as it circulates rather than cleaning one room at a time.
- Duct cleaning. Cleaning the existing duct runs. This is a different job from ductwork repair, redesign and replacement, which is about the condition and layout of the duct rather than what has settled inside it.
- Filtration. Filter and media upgrades, and making sure what is fitted actually suits the system. A filter that restricts airflow too much causes its own problems.
We do not install UV systems, humidifiers or dehumidifiers. If that is what you are after, we will say so rather than steer you onto something we do fit.
When it is worth looking at
- Dust settling again days after the house was cleaned.
- A system that has never had the duct cleaned, or where nobody knows when it last was.
- A filter that looks loaded well before its change interval.
- Renovation or construction dust that went through the system while work was going on.
- A house that smells stale when the system runs after being off for a while.
What we will not tell you
We will not tell you that a purifier will fix a health problem. Indoor air is one of many things in a home, we are HVAC contractors rather than clinicians, and anyone promising a medical outcome from a piece of duct equipment is overselling it.
What we will do is explain what a given piece of equipment actually does, what it does not do, and what it costs, and let you decide from there.
What it costs
Air quality work is quoted after a look at the system, because what makes sense depends on the equipment, the duct and the house. Where a diagnostic visit is the sensible first step, that is the published $139 diagnostic, waived when you book the repair.
The same two commitments apply here as everywhere else: the number we quote before we start is the number on the invoice, and if we find something else we stop and show you before we touch it.
Common questions
Is duct cleaning the same as ductwork repair?
No. Duct cleaning removes what has built up inside the existing runs. Ductwork repair, redesign and replacement deals with duct that is damaged, disconnected, crushed or laid out badly. A house can need one, the other, or both, and they are assessed separately.
Will an air purifier help with allergies?
We will not promise a health outcome from HVAC equipment. What we can tell you is what a given purifier does mechanically and where it sits in the system, so you can decide with accurate information.
Do you install UV systems or humidifiers?
No. We install air purification and filtration, and we clean duct. UV systems, humidifiers and dehumidifiers are not services we offer.
How often should duct be cleaned?
There is no single interval that is right for every house. It depends on the duct, the filtration, whether there has been construction work, and what is going on in the house. We will tell you honestly if yours does not need doing.
What does it cost?
It is quoted after an assessment, because the right answer depends on the system and the house. Where a diagnostic visit is the sensible first step it is $139, waived when you book the repair.
