What is a tune-up actually for?
Most HVAC failures announce themselves first. A capacitor drifting out of specification, a contactor with pitted contacts, a coil gradually loading with dirt, a charge that has been slowly dropping. All of it is findable while the system still runs.
The alternative is discovering it on the first hot week of the year, at the same time as everyone else in the area.
What we look at
The electrical components and connections, the motors, the coils, the charge, the airflow, the thermostat and control operation, and the condensate path. If something looks like it is heading toward failure, we flag it and explain what we are seeing.
What if you find something that needs repair?
A tune-up is an inspection and service visit, not a repair visit. If we find something that needs fixing, we explain it and price it before doing anything, exactly as on any other visit.
One-off visit or on the plan?
You can book a single tune-up, or take two a year inside the Comfort Club at $199 a year, which also includes 15% off repairs and free diagnostic calls.
We are still confirming the exact published checklist for these visits with the owners, so we describe the scope here rather than publishing a numbered list we cannot yet stand behind.
Common questions
How often should HVAC be serviced?
Twice a year is the usual pattern: once before cooling season and once before heating season. The Comfort Club is built around that.
Is a tune-up the same as a repair?
No. It is an inspection and service visit. If we find something that needs repair, we explain and price it before doing anything.
Are tune-ups free with the plan?
They are included in the plan. The plan itself is paid, so we would not describe them as free.
Will a tune-up stop my system breaking down?
It improves the odds by catching wear early. It is not a guarantee, and we are not going to claim otherwise.
