What it is for
Most HVAC failures give warning. A capacitor drifting out of specification, a contactor pitting, a coil loading with dirt, a charge slowly dropping. All findable while the system still runs, and all much cheaper to address then.
What the visit covers
- Electrical. Capacitor, contactor, connections and anything showing heat damage.
- Motors. Blower and condenser fan, including how they sound and draw.
- Coils. Condition of both, and whether dirt is limiting capacity.
- Refrigerant charge. Whether it is where it should be, and what it means if not.
- Airflow. Filter, returns and whether the system is moving what it needs to.
- Controls. Thermostat operation and whether the system responds correctly in each mode.
- Condensate. The drain path, which causes more indoor water damage than people expect.
Why this is a description and not a numbered checklist
We are still confirming the exact published checklist with the owners. Rather than publish a precise list of points we cannot yet stand behind, we describe the scope. When it is confirmed, this page will carry it.
If we find something
A tune-up is an inspection and service visit rather than a repair visit. Anything needing repair gets explained and priced before we do it. Comfort Club members get 15% off that work.
What a tune-up will not do
It will not guarantee your system never breaks down. It improves the odds by catching wear early, and we are not going to claim more than that.
Common questions
How often should I have a tune-up?
Twice a year is the usual pattern, once before cooling season and once before heating season. The Comfort Club includes two a year.
What is checked during a tune-up?
Electrical components, motors, coils, refrigerant charge, airflow, controls and the condensate drain.
Will a tune-up prevent breakdowns?
It improves the odds by catching wear early. It is not a guarantee and we will not present it as one.
